The Ironglass TAIR-11A 135mm T2.9 – MKII Rehousing is considered one of the best Soviet telephoto lenses ever produced, and in this cinematic configuration, it becomes an extremely professional tool. Compared to the original Tair-11, it offers improved sharpness, a shorter minimum focusing distance, and a very long focus throw (around 300°), allowing for extremely precise focus adjustments, ideal for filmmaking. The true highlight of this lens is its 20-blade aperture, which is very rare and produces a perfectly circular, smooth, and creamy bokeh, even when stopping down, without edges or artifacts.
The MKII rehousing adds a robust cinema-grade body with internal focusing, standard 0.8 gear rings, a reversed focus scale, and T-stop markings, along with a hybrid focus system that ensures smooth and consistent rotation even with the heavy optical block of the Tair. This makes the lens reliable even on demanding sets and fully compatible with clip-on matte boxes and follow focus systems. The adjustable PL or EF mount ensures full compatibility with professional cinema cameras such as ARRI, RED, Blackmagic, ZCam, etc.
