RED has taken new steps with the release of the KOMODO 6K Digital Cinema Camera bringing their legendary image quality and color science into an ultra-compact, all-in-one design that weighs only 0,95 kg and measures approximately 10 x 10 x 10 cm.
The key to achieving this was the use of Canon’s RF lens mount and KOMODO 19.9MP Super35 CMOS sensor which boasts Global Shutter technology. This sensor can create images with a dynamic range of 16+ stops and eliminate shutter artifacts.
The Red Komodo captures Redcode RAW images with resolution 6k at 40 fps 17:9 (6144 x 3240), 6k at 50 fps 2.4:1 (6144 x 2592), 5k at 48 fps 17:9 (5120 x 2700), 4k 60 fps 17:9 (4096 x 2160), 2k at 120 fps 17:9 (2048 x 1080). The quality can be set in HQ for VFX, scenes where there is a need for accurate details; MQ for high-end cinema and TV; LQ for TV, online content, interviews.
Revolutionary for RED is the creation of an extremely compact all-in-one design with KOMODO, which means that you can simply insert a CFast 2.0 card into its media slot and you will be able to enjoy data speeds of up to 280MB/ s.
A top 2.9″ 1440 x 1440 touchscreen makes it easy to set up and monitor your footage, or you can use the RED control system to use an iOS or Android device for preview and settings. This is possible via Wi-Fi integrated 2.4/5 GHz.
Cable control is also possible via the USB Type-C port and optional adapters.
